Crochet

My sister and I discovered this beautiful group of women during a road trip through NE Kenya. They call themselves the "Sunshine Mothers" Their work is rooted in community and creativity. Many of whom are beekeepers, producing honey and soap which they sell at their marketplace. Along side this, they practise crochet - a traditional craft belonging to the Nithi tribe, which is sadly becoming rare now mostly carried out by the older generation. The group gathers once a week and their meetings are full of life, song, dance, cooking and prayers. Every piece is freestyle and full of joy!
